Rustic Roots Sanctuary Beekeeping Mentorship Program
BIPOC Beekeeping Mentorship at Rustic Roots Sanctuary
At Rustic Roots Sanctuary in Spanish Lake, Missouri, our BIPOC Beekeeping Mentorship Program creates opportunities for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color to learn the art and science of beekeeping while reconnecting with land-based traditions.
This hands-on mentorship program introduces participants to the fundamentals of apiary management, pollinator health, honey production, and regenerative agriculture practices. Through education and direct experience in the hive, participants gain the knowledge and confidence to care for bees and support local ecosystems.
Bees play a vital role in pollination, food production, and biodiversity, and this program helps cultivate the next generation of community beekeepers and environmental stewards.
Participants not only learn practical beekeeping skills but also become part of a growing movement to expand equitable access to land-based knowledge, ecological education, and sustainable food systems.
